Remote but near the action 🧑🏽💻
How new modalities of work shouldn't impact in the real work
That early 2020 🦠
If everyone in this planet has experienced something that unite us, that would be - the moon landing but besides that of course - the Covid 19.
On that moment, goberments and companies trigger something that was a solution, but would later be a die-hard modality of work: Remote.
"Un Porteño" in New York
Like someone that loves to travel around the world I am always moving - last year for example I flought from london to Dubai, and from Madrid to Montenivdeo.
I was on one of those trips, visiting family in New York when, maybe connected by luck or fate, a project arrive to my inbox: Redesigning the biggest parking lot company in New York.
With my days counted, because I was going back to Buenos Aires in some days, I put my hands on it. I visited some of the places the client owned. So I could have more information and another view of the business when back to my city.
Why is it important to be IN the game?
Lately, a lot of companies are hiring designers outside the bounderies of a country, what, let be honest, it's super cool. But its important to understand that some problems, something as challengin as designing a way for thousands or millong of people each year are going to interact with a whole city, needs a bit of insitu action.
You can check, how that project look here.
